Foley Bathroom

Trouthouse has recently designed and built a renovation to a laundry, bathroom, and toilet in Preston, Melbourne. Salvaged Himalayan Cedar was used for the benchtop and handles.

In order to keep cost, material use and complexity to a minimum, the original layout was retained, and the battered 1950’s finishes and joinery were replaced with practical cabinetry and harder wearing finishes.

The small spaces needed personality so materials were chosen for their character and texture. Salvaged silky oak was used for benchtops and handles in the bathroom.

The dog and cat feeding tower was of crucial importance.

A salvaged bit of waste Silky Oak (Grevillea Robusta), given new life as a cupboard handle.
